Spring sleeves from norelem

Reliable aids for smooth engagement and switching

In everyday use, operating elements with indexing points are often exposed to high loads. The robust and high quality spring sleeves from norelem ensure reliable and low noise engagement and switching processes on machines and equipment.

Spring sleeves consist of a deep-drawn metal sleeve combined with a spring. The spring is held captive in the sleeve and so cannot be lost. Spring sleeves are mainly used as indexing and positioning elements. They are used wherever engagement and switching operations with a pleasant haptic and acoustic feedback are to be realised within the smallest possible space e.g. on programme selectors, rotary switches or temperature controllers on machines or household appliances such as washing machines, dishwashers or ovens.

The sleeve body is made from nickel-plated steel or stainless steel. The spring is always made of stainless steel. The spring sleeves are available from norelem in various forms e.g. pointed, rounded or with collar.

A simple drilled hole is all that is needed to install the spring sleeves. The spring sleeve is tensioned and held in place by the opposing component. "We at norelem achieve consistent quality in terms of spring force and sleeve geometry through an innovative manufacturing process," explains Martin Ahner, Head of norelem ACADEMY. "This enables us to ensure precise guidance of the spring sleeve in the relevant component."
