V-belts, V-belt pulleys
V-belts have a trapezoidal cross-section, are made of rubber with an inlay of fine steel wire and are produced as endless belts. DIN 2215 refers to classic V-belts. DIN 7753 refers to so-called narrow V-belts. These have an improved power transmission compared to classic belts. V-belt pulleys are specially designed for use with V-belts. The pulleys have ridges that are perfectly matched to the ridges on the V-belt to ensure optimum power transmission.
